Your data, your control. Always.

The Short Version

👤 What We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide you with accurate nutrition tracking:

Account Information
Email address from Apple or Google Sign-In to identify your account
Body Metrics
Height, weight, age, and gender to calculate your personalized calorie and macro goals
Fitness Profile
Activity level, weight goals, and dietary preferences to tailor recommendations
Meal Data
Photos you scan, identified foods, portions, and nutritional values
Preferences
Language, measurement units, and portion display settings

🤖 How AI Analyzes Your Meals

When you snap a photo of your meal:

  1. Your photo is securely uploaded to our servers
  2. AI (Google Gemini) identifies foods and estimates portions
  3. Nutritional data is calculated and saved to your account
  4. The original photo is stored so you can review your meals later

AI analysis happens on secure cloud servers, not on your device. Your photos are never used to train AI models or shared with third parties.

🔒 How We Protect Your Data

Security isn't an afterthought - it's built into everything we do:

🔗 Third-Party Services

We partner with trusted services to power PikCal:

🔐 Your Rights

You're in control of your data:

🗑 Account Deletion

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  1. Your profile and email address
  2. All meal scans and food entries
  3. Your photos from our storage
  4. Goals, preferences, and onboarding data
  5. Subscription records (purchases remain with Apple)
  6. Your authentication account

For Apple Sign-In users, we also revoke access tokens with Apple. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

👶 Children's Privacy

PikCal is designed for users 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

📝 Policy Updates

We may update this policy as PikCal evolves. Significant changes will be communicated through the app. The "Updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
